Still running pretty disgusting, heres the last few months for ya. Its hard to take. I dropped 5 buyins today at 1-2 whilst having a postive allin ev. I think i was down like 1100 and had an allin ev of +300. It really sucks, what can ya do. I feel like im dealing with running bad a little better. I mean, i took all the shit what was thrown at me today and put in what i felt was one of the best sessions i have ever played. Its probably the first time i managed to play from getting fucked about 7-8 times with the bst hand and continue to play almost unaffected.

Bankroll is like $7200 now. Just sucks. I feel like i should probably be taking some time off but its the last thing i want to do right now. When i downswing hard, i almost always want to play more. Not to recoup or play higher variance to try and get even faster. Just because i feel like poker is testing me.

I know that poker is testing me, ive been on about 3-4 runs similar to this over the last two years and the current downswing is maybe the 2nd worse of all time.

I might just scrap the challenge and wire over another $15k or so, i know having $20k in my account gives me more confidence and makes me feel secure. Its kinda stupid really, i just like seeing the money in my account and knowing i will never go broke. If i lost the $7k in my account im pretty sure i would have to re-evaulate playing poker for a living.

I think it would be awful to end the challenge. If you can’t get through a few bumps in the early stages of this challenge then what hope is there with the following challenge which you will set for yourself?

These are only early days. And it’s good that the setback happened now. After all, it would be a lot more disheartening to have reached 400NL only to be kicked in the guts and find yourself back at 100NL.

Just keep playing and updating your blog. It’ll keep you honest and get you back on track.
